The name comes from the fact that this winery celebrated its 130th anniversary in 2017. Has therefore made a one-off cuvée from some of their vineyards within the Appellation Fleurie. So Fleurie is the name of the village.

Who does not know the other villages such as Julienas, Morgon, Chiroubles, etc. The Vicomte Bernard de Romanet winery had beautiful wines from that region at the time, from the Régnié appellation added in 1988. Beautiful wines that could lie and mature for a long time due to the better fermentation method. Many are now matured in oak for a short or longer period of time. The time of the Beaujolais Primeur seems to be over, and fortunately.

Price per bottle € 18.50 and packed in boxes of 6

Below more about the winemaker and his background:

Beaujolais

As a wine region, it belongs to Burgundy, but traditionally has a completely different character. This is also due to the different surface. The hills of the Beaujolais are much more rugged in structure than the gently rolling hills of the Côte d'Or.
The substrate of the latter consists of sand/clay with small stones. Beaujolais has a subsoil of granite and manganese, at least in the north. The southern Beaujolais has more calcareous clay. The area is divided into 10 crus with village names, including the Beaujolais Villages and at the very bottom, in the clay part, the Beaujolais appellation.

Trading house P. Ferraud exclusively produces wines from Beaujolais. They own several crus including the white Saint-Véran, Saint-Amour and Fleurie.
